On April 25, 2025, Pakistan's Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry issued a rebuttal to India’s accusations linking Pakistan to the deadly attack in Pahalgam, Indian-Controlled-Kashmir.
In an official statement, the minister condemned the incident as a “calculated conspiracy” by India and accused New Delhi of conducting repeated false flag operations to deceive the international community.
Minister Chaudhry emphasized Pakistan’s firm stance on defense, warning that the country’s security is “impregnable” and cautioning India not to harbor any illusions about Pakistan’s capabilities.
He accused India of orchestrating “fake narratives” to cover up its brutalities in Indian administered Kashmir, stating that India’s “deceit and manipulations now stand fully exposed.”
“The false flag operation has laid bare the ugly face of India before the world,” Chaudhry said, “proving once again that India is a threat to regional peace.”
Reaffirming national unity, the minister declared that the entire Pakistani nation stands “shoulder-to-shoulder” with its armed forces.
He underscored that Pakistan’s military is fully capable of countering any threat to the homeland.
In addition to addressing the Kashmir attack, Chaudhry urged India to respect bilateral agreements, particularly the Indus Waters Treaty, cautioning that India’s suspension of the treaty is “not only unjust but entirely unwarranted.”
This statement comes amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the deaths of 26 tourists.
India has blamed Pakistan based militants for the assault, leading to a series of retaliatory diplomatic and military actions from both sides, including exchanges of gunfire along the Line of Control and suspension of key bilateral agreements.
Pakistan has consistently denied any involvement in the attack, calling for an international inquiry and dismissing India’s allegations as baseless.
The maritime minister’s remarks reinforce Islamabad’s position that India is attempting to manipulate the narrative to justify its actions in Kashmir.
As the situation remains tense, both countries continue to exchange accusations and retaliatory measures, raising concerns over the potential for further escalation in the disputed region.
Pakistan’s rejection of India’s claims and underscores the fragile state of peace and security in South Asia’s most contested territory.
